The job markets Solpower jobs focuses on are Environmental jobs, Renewable energy jobs, Health care jobs, non-profits jobs and educational jobs. These five areas are found to be crucial for sustainable and quality communities. Our firsts goal is to find jobs in the Environmental and renewable energy sectors. These job markets have been a major topic of conversation in green politics and a growing concern.
DEFINING A GREEN JOB
There is no one understanding when it comes to green jobs but as defined by Wikipedia, “A green-collar worker is a worker who is employed in the environmental sectors of the economy, or in the agricultural sector.” However, Americans tend to think of green jobs more specific and just renewable energy jobs .
It does not seem to be an important issue to define “green jobs” as long as its users notice the socially responsible root of the terms. Within every understanding of what a green job is, it has implications of being a a socially responsible job.
GUIDE TO SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Social responsibility can be most notable in corporate social responsibility. This area of social responsibility will be the topic of these paragraphs because social responsibility is a large area that considers governmental, individuals and corporations and small businesses. Corporate social responsibility is closely related to the social responsibility of small businesses but just on a small scale. Impacts to societies and environments are similar and can be measured the same way
Corporate social responsibility is mainly self-regulated. It’s up to each business to define their own corporate social responsibility (CSR). CSR is also known as corporate responsibility, corporate citizenship and corporate social performance. Businesses who create their own CSR measure their impact to the natural environment and social environment. Companies aim to sustain of improve the public good and public interest.
CSR is debated largely between economists and public interest groups. The reason so is that economists believe that businesses have one purpose and that is to create profits and management of businesses has the responsibility to the owners or shareholders of the company to create as much wealth for them as possible. Do to the large impact corporations have been having on the public, many public interest groups argue that the impact to society businesses need to take on more of a responsibility.
